Did You Eat Your Fitzpatrick Flakes? Bills vs. Pats Week 3 Preview

It is easy to overlook the Buffalo Bills as a New England Patriot simply because they haven’t been beaten by the Bills since 2003, that’s a 15 game stretch! The Buffalo Bills are the biggest surprise team in the NFL thus far at 2-0 but even more surprising, the Bills lead the NFL in points with 79 in two weeks!  The Bills haven’t had a quarterback with a quarterback rating over 90 since 1998 (Doug Flutie), now they have a quarterback in Ryan Fitzpatrick whose quarterback rating is 102. Luckily for the Patriots they are arguably the best team in the NFL averaging 563 yards of offense a game. They have been giving plenty of yards up to their opponents but their defense is still making key plays with 6 sacks and 4 turnovers on the season. It doesn’t matter what pass defense Brady is up against because he has been shredding each team he has faced thus far ( both whom were amongst the top eight pass defenses last season), what does matter is the defensive pass rush. Despite the fact that I expect the Bills to be more aggressive and blitz more on Sunday, the Bills are currently ranked 28th in sacks this season. The Patriots need to focus on stuffing the run this game and should give Albert Haynesworth more snaps. Keying in on Fred Jackson should be their main objective on defense because they can challenge Ryan Fitzpatrick to beat them. New England has to improve against the run anyway as they have been allowing 4.5 yards a carry this season.  On the flip side, the Buffalo Bill’s offensive line (one of the youngest in the NFL) seems to be gelling a little bit more than last season. The Bills will be without slot receiver Roscoe Parish (out for season) while New England will be without star tight end Aaron Hernandez (3-5 weeks). I believe the Bills are hungry enough to get a win at home in this game but they are more prone to making mistakes than the Patriots are in general.  If there was ever a time to beat the Patriots, that time would be now in week 3 at home. This is going to be a great game! Love me or hate me, I like the Bills upsetting the Patriots 35-31
