The Patriots "Loving Me Some Me?"

Whether or not Terrell Owens is in a new football uniform this season, it still won’t hinder him from telling you to get your popcorn ready. The T.O. Show, which airs on VH1, has slowly taken off over the years and managed to get decent enough ratings to stay on the air, but does T.O. really care? As much as his show has been helping him maintain popularity, you better believe Terrell Owens would give it all up for one more season in the NFL. Terrell Owens traveled to Korea (!) to undergo stem-cell treatment on his reconstructed knee (torn ACL) and according to T.O. and Drew Rosenhaus, it was a success! On October 19th Drew Rosenhaus tweeted, “I just watched Terrell go through a full football workout and he looked awesome! He is 100% healthy and ready to play right now!” Whether or not Drew’s judgment is accurate plenty of teams have shown no interest in Terrell Owens, the Patriots however, are not one of those teams.

Terrell Owens will be conducting a work out today in California in front of “several” NFL teams to see if there is any interest left in the 37 year old veteran and Patriots director of personal Nick Caserio will be attending. Does this mean that Ochocinco is not cutting it in a Patriots uniform and they need some help at the wide receiver position or is it possible that Coach Belichick wants to explore every avenue possible to better his team? The answer: maybe both. The fact remains that Terrell Owens is known for his extraordinary work ethic and fast healing capabilities as he has recovered from serious injuries in the past. Terrell Owens shocked the world in Super Bowl XXXIX when he came back from a sprained ankle and fractured fibula injury that he suffered against the Dallas Cowboys on December 19, 2004. It took Terrel Owens seven weeks to get ready for the game of his life, and he played lights out.  Terrell Owens had 9 receptions for 122 yards in Super Bowl XXXIX and was considered a hero despite losing to the Patriots 24-21. I am sure the Patriots didn’t forget about his performance against them and neither should anybody for that matter.  Love him or hate him, Terrell Owens still deserves a shot to be evaluated by NFL teams with all that he has given to the NFL in his 15 year career. I am confident that Terrell Owens would not be a distraction to the team if he was signed by the Patriots but it would increase the likely hood of Ochocinco becoming one. Either way, I am sure Belichick would know how to handle the situation if that were to unravel in Foxboro. Stay tuned on sportsblog.com for more news and insight regarding Terrell Owens and his possible future NFL whereabouts.
