The Patriots torture the Dolphins on Monday night, taking the life out of Sun Life Stadium 38-24. The Dolphins promised to be more explosive on offense this season with new offensive coordinator Mike Daboll and they stood by their word totaling for 488 yards in the season opener (2nd highest in week 1). Chad Henne threw for a career high 416 passing yards and led his team down the field for a score on opening drive, but the Patriots never panicked. There were 14 quarterbacks that threw for over 300 yards in week 1 but only one to throw for over 500 yards, Tom Magnificent. Tom Brady threw for four touchdowns and was the major reason why the Patriots ranked first in total offense in week 1 with 622 yards. The Dolphins were ranked 8th overall in pass defense last year and this year they will start off dead last. That just shows how well the Patriots game planned for this matchup. The Dolphins are still one of the best passing defenses in the league but the Patriots know how to exploit their opponents’ weakness. The Dolphins played well, but not well enough. How can you ask them to? The Patriots offense looks unstoppable! Tom Brady spread the wealth to eight different receivers. Keeping their familiar style of tight end play into the mix, Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski each had a touchdown grab. Brady also threw a twenty-five yard pass to Wes Welker that he took for a 99 yard score on a seem route. Wes Welker only runs a 4.6 forty! If the Patriots keep this type of play up it will be hard not to mention their name and Super Bowl XLVI in the same sentence together, but for now let’s take it week by week! The Patriots (1-0) will take on the San Diego Chargers (1-0) at home in week 2.
